James and I were incredibly active this weekend, made me feel as though our weekend was used to its full potential. I like that. I've got a few post coming this way...
Friday night we went to Cafe Madrid for some tapas and then checked movies and times to maybe go see a late showing... and guess what was showing at the Magnolia in West Villiage? The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo! As you may know, I really loved the book and am reading the sequel right now. So I was very excited to finally see the movie that I've been reading all about. It's a Swedish book, that's been translated; so the movie was in subtitles. But 'word on the street' is they may do an American version in the near future. Beyond the subtitles, the movie was perfect! Many of the characters and locations were exactly as I envisioned; which can always be questionable when converting books to film. I was a very happy camper. Now poor James... I'm not sure how excited he was to sit through a Swedish film without any real care. BUT he did see Wilmer Valderrama at the concession stand getting a water, so it wasn't a total wash.
Here's a quote about the book from one of my other favorite thriller authors.

I've heard some buzz around this book and I would like to read it. Do you own it and if so could I borrow your copy?
Sure thang pussy cat. I'll put it in the mail soon! I however am reading the sequel "The Girl Who Played with Fire" on a "nook": the Barnes & Noble version of a Kindle. James got it for his birthday and wanted me to try it out. I must say, I miss the romance of flipping the pages and curling the book.
