Speaking of Brontosaurus
In my last post I mentioned the Brontosaurus which brought back a lot of memories in a flash. As a small child I remember having a great fascination with dinosaurs. And thinking about it now, I'm pretty sure I know more about the prehistoric animal than any other non-child bearing, 20 something, female, designer in the hospitality industry.
Although Jurassic Park did scare the poop out of me, my T-Rex impersonation left a last impression on the Fleitman household.
Yah, finally.
I have a horrible habit (just like my mom) of grinding my teeth at night. Lately, it's become so bad that I develop headaches and wake up with a sore jaw. I know it's due to stress, but it's ruining my teeth and my K9's are almost completely flat. Over the years, my dentist has urged me to try wearing a night guard, and I have... tried. They are so uncomfortable and so big that I can't even shut my mouth, let-alone grind my teeth. But I FINALLY found one that's comfortable and stayed in my mouth all night long! The Doctors' Night Guard is the best. It's really small and doesn't go over your front teeth so you don't look like a football player while catching your beauty sleep.
So now I can sleep comfortably and not have teeth like a brontosaurus.
The Doctors' Night Guard did not endorse this announcement.

Ryan Adams Engaged....
Ever since I was properly introduced to Ryan Adams by the Parkers, he has continued to be one of my favorite artist. And today, while scanning the headlines, I notice he's gotten engaged.... to MANDY MOORE! What??!?!?!?
Don't be confused, it's the same Mandy Moore that sang songs like, "Missing you like Candy" and was in the teenage drama, "A Walk to Remember". Really? I mean, really? Ryan.
First of all, I don't really see him as the marrying type and now, I won't be able to listen to any more of his amazingly written love songs, without thinking that it's about his muse... MANDY MOORE. Ugggg.
Way to ruin it for me.

It's your BIRTHDAY CONNER JOHN!
Happy Birthday Daddio!
Today is my dad's birthday, happy birthday DAD!
I'm not too sure why I picked this photo of the two of us? I just really like it. I think it was my second birthday. Even though I don't remember it, I can just imagine my mom telling the two of us to smile, and dad making some goofy face while April laughs at him in the background.
Love you and hope you have a great day!

Oh man, now that was funny.
Although it is not funny that my close friend Jessica is soon going into surgery, the video she posted on her blog is! I almost cried I was laughing so hard! Check it out.

Friendships
Tonight, as I lay wide awaken in a lonely hotel room, I keep thinking about how complex, yet easy the path is of friendships. One friendship in particular puts a smile on my face, thinking about how simply it all started. It was my first day at Looney & Associates and it was Sarah the interns birthday. I remember gathering in the conference room to sing "Happy Birthday" to the curly haired girl in the polo button up and flip flops. To be honest, I couldn't remember her name so I muffled part of the song. Little did I know within the year, our future husbands would be living together and the line between our little lives would blur as our small families became inseparable.

Just a little Sunday snooze.
Today's weather was amazing, so James, Gussy and I decided it was a perfect afternoon for an outdoor nap. There's a fenced in area close to our apartment that I've converted to my own private dog park. It's huge and the landscape is perfect for the pooch, with only two holes in the fence. If I had more energy, I'd find out who actually owns it and try to get it converted to a real park.... but I kind of like our exclusive rights. So after lunch we laid out the blanket and snoozed away while the sun blanketed our backs. Gussy loves it, with the wind in his hair, he usually makes his way back to the blanket for his own little nap once he's explored the area. But today we were abruptly awoken by the sound of sirens. Three, to be exact; ambulance, fire truck and a police car. We sat up watching the EMS get out of the ambulance and walk towards us while putting on their latex gloves. After a short conversation, we were told that someone had called 911 and requested an ambulance for us. James and I were so confused, did they think we were dead or bums? We couldn't help but laugh, but you could tell the EMS guys were a little pissed. It's still a little odd, wondering how the phone call to 911 went, "Ummm, yah, there are two people laying on a blanket with a dog and they look like they might be unconscious or dead. Could you send someone out for help."
