City Sounds

As I was falling asleep last night, I realized I live in incredibly close proximity of every form of transportation possible: therefore I HEAR every form of transportation possible. Seriously, as I lay there, I counted all the ways to get from point A to point B that I could hear from my bedroom.
1. PLANE: We live directly under LUV field's flight path. So close, you almost want to duck when they fly over.
2. TRAIN: The Trinity Express Railway gives a little 'toot, toot' every time it goes by.
3. AUTOMOBILE: Oak Lawn is at our backdoor and a major artery for Dallas.
4. BUS: there's a DART stop right by our dumpster; how convenient.
5: WALK: Within a mile are the best gay bars in Dallas, and we definitely can hear the lively patrons.
6: DOG SLED: OK, this one is pushing it, but we are a block from a large doggy daycare and those pooches can sometimes cause quiet the racket!

Punkie-doodle

A few weeks ago I got to babysit this little charmer. She's getting so big! She's a mover and a shaker (i.e. the blurry pics). But I did manage to slow her down with a big ol' bottle....zzzzz.

Don't you wish you could just conk out like that the moment you were done eating?

IKEA Heights

Please watch every episode. http://www.ikeaheights.com/
IKEA Heights: a dramatic mini-series filmed entirely in an IKEA, during store hours.
I know I have a bizarre sense of humor, but there is something about these that just make me laugh so hard. I seriously could watch these all day.

San Fran

This past week I went to Santa Clara, California, for a few days for work. I flew into San Francisco and rented a car so I thought I'd try to find that bridge everyone keeps talking about.
The weather was sunny, but still a bit chilly. Here are my pics.
Dangerous driving. Photography and rental cars to do not mix. yikes.

This is what happens when you go site seeing by yourself and try to take a self-portrait with the Golden Gate Bridge in the background.

Deep Thought Thursday with JBL - Vol 15

Nick's Adventure in Outer Space
As Nick's daddy waved bye-bye in the big shiny space ship. Nick walked across the rope to see the big ship. As he went up the ramp to see the flashing buttons. The ramp began to move! Nick was in the space ship when he heart felt the ship begin to lift off!
The ship began to soar upwards. Nick looked out the window and saw the ground get smaller. So did the people and his mommy! She began to shrink! Nick started to cry. Nick then turned around and saw his daddy. He tried to run to his daddy but he began floating!
He looked out the window and saw that it was night. He asked his daddy why it was nighttime already? His daddy explained that it is very dark in space. His daddy then asked where Nick wanted to go? Nick said in a loud voice "the moon"!
Sure Nicky lets go! Nick and Nick's daddy floated to the control panel and told the computer to take them to the moon. As they began to move Nick became hungry, so he asked for a snack. Nick's daddy went and got some ice cream out of the cabinet and game some to Nick.
Nick grabbed it out of the air took off the wrapper and found that it was hard. Nick though how come the ice cream is hard? Because if it was soft, it would have melted all over the ship explained Nick's dad. We're here said Nick's daddy. The opened the hatch and jumped off to the moon. Nick began to look around. He wondered why there was no cheese. His dad explained that he didn't know why either. His dad then noticed the time and said it was almost night time. So They boarded the space ship one more time and headed toward Earth. When they landed, Nick's mom came running to the space ship and hugged both Nick and his dad.
On the way home they told her all about their wondrous adventure.
